The Right News

Continuing on with the Jackelope reruns, here's a good one from June 2008.

Jackelope has some very definite opinions about certain things. Just this morning he saw the drawing I'd started on my desk of all four of the gremlins and asked, "You're not drawing me, are you?"

"Of course I'm drawing you."

He said, "Well, you can't. I have to decide that. I'll look stupid in that drawing."

Obviously he doesn't get the whole parental rights thing I've got going.

He also has opinions about movies and the use of foreign language in otherwise English speaking dialogue.

Take Star Wars: Return of the Jedi. I walked in on him viewing the scene where Jabba the Hutt is rockin' out to some funky fresh alien music and a scantily clad woman/alien is dancing for the big blob.

You've probably seen the movie for yourself, so I won't describe every detail here, but at one point all the alien beings start talking in their native languages. Jackelope just shook his head and said, "They speak stupid Spanish."

And with all the storms going on around here, we've naturally had the news on a lot. Last night Jackelope informed me that he likes to use our pull down map to play "The Right News."

I was curious about that, so I took the bait.

"The Right News, huh?"

"Yeah," he explained, "when I play the news, I play the right news. Because those other guys," he paused to point at the tv, "are the liars."

He's so funny! I love the "stupid Spanish" comment. Recently, Sofi came up to me and said, "Mama, I know that at the Tower of Babel, God didn't make anybody speak English." I asked her how she knew this. She looked at me like I was a complete idiot and stated the obvious, "Because then everybody would have understood them!!" LOL Crazy kids.

Is that a photo of maps in your house? If so, color me envious. I have no groovy, roll down maps.
